Ana Moya Pellitero, PhD

Ana Moya Pellitero is an integrated  researcher at the Center for Art History and Artistic Research (CHAIA), University of Évora, since 2015. At present she holds the position of principal researcher in Humanities and Arts under the programme-contract between FCT and U Évora (2023-29) (2022.04361.CEECIND), coordinator of the research project “Land Theatre. Contextual and participatory performative arts for rural landscape regeneration”.  Postgraduate in Landscape Intervention and Heritage (Natural, Cultural and Touristic) by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2009). Doctorate in History and Theory of Landscape, Urban Culture and Visual Studies from the Technical University of Eindhoven (2007), and Master in Architecture from the Superior Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona, Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Her post-doctoral research “Somatic Landscape” (2015-21), with a postdoctoral fellowship financed by the Science and Technology Foundation (FCT, Portugal) and the Social European Funds (UE) (SFRH/BPD/101156/2014), enquired about the somatic and multicultural urban landscape and it studied the dynamic and immaterial identity of the landscape heritage in the historic districts of Lisbon (Mouraria) and Raval (Barcelona). This work involved the study of the body, its corporal and performative choreography and the multisensory perception of the urban space, together with the mapping and representation using relational artistic practices. She is the author of the book The Perception of the Urban Landscape [La percepción del paisaje urbano. Madrid: Biblioteca Nueva, 2011).
